cca
My CCA in secondary school was Media Club, more specifically, Photography department. I was lucky to be in this CCA as many people wanted to join it
When I entered this CCA, I did not have any background in photography but the seniors there helped me and my interest in photography grew. In just a few months, me along with the other secondary 1 students who joined this department were taught the basics of a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera. Over time, training and photo-taking sessions allowed me to be better at using the camera and how to take better photographs. Our department was also tasked to cover school events such as National Day Parade and Teachers Day Celebrations, of which some of my photographs were selected to be in the yearbook. This has allowed me to experience the job of a photographer where quality photos are expected. The department also organised outings to expose us to different types of photography such as street photography and landscape photography
As time went on, the seniors graduated and it became our turn to become the seniors of the CCA. All the responsibility became ours and I took on the role as the chief trainer, training the juniors everything I have learnt throughout my 4 years in the CCA just like how I was taught. It was not an easy task, I learnt that different people learn things differently and I learnt that putting myself in their shoes and knowing how they perceive things has allowed me to teach them as much as I know.
